VOGTAREUTH

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Rosenheim

Official blazon

Gespalten von Rot und Silber, überdeckt mit einem gesenkten, von Silber und Blau gespaltenen Wellenbalken; vorne ein aufrechter silberner Schlüssel, hinten ein aufrechter roter Palmzweig.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 8, 1963.

The divided shield as well as the key and palm leaf are taken from the arms of the St. Emmeran Abbey in Regensburg, which owned the area in the village from the 10th until the early 19th century. Since 1786 the Vogareuth estate was directly ruled by the Abbey in name of the Emperor (Reichsunmittelbarkeit) and not under influence of Bayern.

The wavy bar refers to the Inn river. The blue and silver also refer to the Bavarian colours.
