History: Raised at Stirling on 14 April 1916.

A gamecock proper.
Motto: Gloria finis

Origin/meaning

In 1926 the Squadron was equipped with Gloste Gamecock Aircraft, and since the it used the Brid as a Badge. It is also an appropriate badge of a Fighter Squadron. The Motto translates as "Glory is the end". The badge was granted in July 1936.
