In Schwarz ein gestürzter Anker mit rot weißem Schach auf den Flunken. Origin/meaningThe anchor in the arms is likely a canting element (Enkirch, from Ankerich ?), and already appears on the oldest known seal, dating from 1344. The seal also shows the two small shields with the arms of the Counts of Sponheim, who at the time ruled the village.
