Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 14, 1988.

The village church is dedicated to St. Maria Magdalena. The jar in which she kept the perfumed oil is this saint's main attribute. Another saint, who was venerated in the municipality, is St. Patricius, better known nowadays as Patrick. In his honour, the trefoils were included into the arms.
