Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 9, 1982.

The arms are derived from the seal of the local judges from the 18th century. The seal showed four rings. The colours are derived from the Amt Welschbillig of the State of Trier to which the area historically belonged.

Literature : Wappenbuch der Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land 1995.
