MERMUTH
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Hunsrück Kreis
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Emmelshausen
Official blason:
Schild durch eingeschweifte grüne Spitze, darin eine goldene Kapelle, gespalten, vorne in silber ein rotes Balkenkreuz, hinten in Silber drei rote Schnallen schrägrechts aneinandergereiht.
Origin/meaning :
The cross is derived from the arms of the State of Trier, to which the area historically belonged. The three buckles are derived from the arms of the Boos zu Waldeck family (see also Beulich), who ruled the village for a long time. The green point symbolises the green character of the municipality, and shows the local church.
