THYBORØN-HARBOØRE

Region : Midtjylland
Amt (until 2007) : Ringkøbing
Additions : 1970 Harboøre-Engbjerg, Thyborøn
Incorporated into : 2007 Lemvig

Arms of Thyborøn-Harboøre

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1974, but were already designed for Thyborøn in 1956.

The arms indicate that the municipality is situated on two peninsulae (gold) between the Limfjord and the North Sea. The berthing dolphin is an indication for the harbour, the star is taken from the seal of the Vandfuld herred, to which the area historically belonged.
