Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 1, 1964.
The arms show the local church as a canting symbol, surrounded by an abbott's stick and the wheel of the State of Mainz. The monastery in Amorbach owned much of the land in the village from the 12th century until 1803, when all the wordly possessions of the clergy were dismantled. Kirchzell was part of the Amt Wildenberg of the state of Mainz (governed by the Prince-Bishops), since the 13th century. As no seals of older arms of the town were known, the arms were devised in 1964.
