Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Austria - Österreichische Gemeindewappen |
HÖCHST
State : Vorarlberg
District : Bregenz
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 15, 1960.
The arms are based on the medieval arms of the Lords of Höchst. A Ulrich von Höste (or Höst or Hosten) was mentioned in the Zürich Roll of Arms in the 14th century. His seals with the chevron are known from 1285, 1291 and 1303;.
