State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Kronach
Incorporated into : 1978 Pressig

Wappen von Rothenkirchen/Arms (crest) of Rothenkirchen
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1937 and are based on seal of the town from 1718. Rothenkirchen became a town in 1377. The arms show a farmer, which is seen in more Bavarian arms as a symbol for free agricultural communities. The colours were determined by Hupp in the 1890s.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
