German In Gold aus einem grünen Dreiberg wachsend ein roter Krummstab mit einer fünfblättrigen Blüte innerhalb der Krümme

Origin/meaning

The crosier refers to the fact that the village was ruled from 947 until 1803 by the Gandersheim Convent. The top of the crosier forms a flower, and refers to a number of rare flowers that can be found in the area. The mountain in the base refers to the Asseberg, on which the village is situated.

The red and gold colours are those of the original Dukes of Braunschweig from the 13th century.
