POHJOIS-POHJANMAA / NORRA ÖSTERBOTTEN

Pohjois-Pohjanmaa is a region in Finland created in 1997 as part of Oulu to which it belonged from 1775-2009. Since 2009 it is a separate region.

  • (fi) Sinisessä kentässä kuusi juoksevaa hopeista kärppää, joiden hännänpäät mustat, sijoitettuina 2:2:2.
  • (sv) I blått fält sex springande hermeliner av silver ordnade 2:2 :2, svansspetsarna svarta.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 1, 1997.

The arms show the historical arms of Pohjanmaa, without the crown.
