Origin/meaning

The arms were never officially granted, but adopted by the municipality in 1934.

The arms, with three squirrels in a bend, are taken from the arms of the medieval Knights von Erle, which were also known as Von Ichorne. The squirrels are canting, Ichorne, or Eichhorn in modern German, means squirrel. As no colours were known for the arms of the family, the municipality chose the above colours in 1934.
