GROOTFONTEIN

Region: Otjozondjupa

Grootfon.jpg

Origin/meaning:
The name Grootfontain means Big Fountain, which is represented by the large fountain in the lower part of the arms. From the fountain a tree (a Makalani palm) rises as it is a fertile area. In the top of the arms the Hoba meteorite, one of the largest meteorites, is shown, as it is found nearby the town.

The supporters are a kudu and an eland.
