Wappen von Vegesack

Origin/meaning

Vegesack was an Amt (territory) of the city of Bremen and received city rights in 1850. Until 1850 the local seals used the key of Bremen, and in 1850 the Hanseatic cross was added to the arms (compare Bremerhaven). In 1880 the arms were slightly changed to the above arms.
