Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on January 15, 1998.

The arms show a silver castle, which symbolises the local castle, which is known since the 12th century. The branch symbolises the Ohe forests in the municipality. The branch was also part of the (complicated) arms of the Von Veltheim family, which lived for centuries in the local castle. The colours refer to the nature and the water in the municipality.
