Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 24, 1976.

The arms are a simplified version of the previous arms, see below.

The previous arms were granted in 1971.

Wappen von Drensteinfurt

They were newly devised, as there were no old arms available. The deer and twig are taken from the village seal, dating from the end of the 18th century. The stones are a canting element (Stein=stone). The balls are taken from the arms of the Lords of Walstedde, a village, which is now part of Drengsteinfurt. The colours are taken from the arms of the Lords von der Recke, who lived in the village from 1429-18th century.
