Origin/meaning

Hayingen received city rights in the late 13th century and was until the middle of the 16th century the seat of the Lords of Gundelfingen. The oldest seals of the city date from the 14th century and show already the arms of the Lords of Gundelfingen above a city wall and flanked by two towers. All later seals and images until 1810 show the same composition.

From 1810-1920 the arms only showed the arms of the family. In 1920 the arms below were adopted, which are identical to the historical arms. The arms were slightly changed after the merger with the other municipalities and were officially granted on September 8, 1978.
