TREUENBRIETZEN
State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Potsdam-Mittelmark
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 20, 1993.
The arms with a city gate and the eagle of Brandenburg already appeared on a document from 1311. In the 18th century the eagle was replaced by the eagle of Preussen, which was in use until 1945. During DDR times the eagle was completely removed (although on a postal cancellation it was visible, see below). In 1993 the historical version was restored.
