Escudo de Santa Maria d'Oló

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'argent, una rosa de gules botonada d'or, barbada, tijada i fullada de sinople. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 13th December 1991.

The rose is the traditional sign on the arms of the village, and is an allusion to the name Oló: in Catalan it sounds the same as "olor", that means "smell, odour".
