VÄSTERHANINGE

Province (Landskap): Södermanland
County (Län): Stockholms län
Additions : 1952 Muskö
Incorporated into : 1971 Haninge

Västerhaninge kommunvapen

Official blason

Sköld delad av guld, vari en röd tjädertupp, och av blått, vari ett ankare av guld.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 28, 1952.

The black grouse cock makes these arms canting (hane = rooster), and alludes to the forest Hanveden, which had given the place its name. The anchor refers to the naval base in the Hårs-fjord.
