Selected collector's items from Germany:

VAREL-LAND

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Friesland
Incorporated into : 1972 Varel

Wappen von Varel-Land

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The municipality was granted arms in 1926.

These arms showed a divided shield, with the eagle of Friesland and the image of the local patron saint, St. Michael killing the dragon. As I have no image, any image is welcome !

In 1938 these arms were replaced by the above arms. The arms show historical weapons of the Frisians, a shield and three long spears. The spears had a special base, which was used to jump over ditches and streams.
