GELCHSHEIM

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Würzburg (until 1973 Ochsenfurt)
Additions : 1978 Oellingen, Osthausen

Wappen von Gelchsheim

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 25, 1538 by Walter von Crohnberg, Master of the Teutonic Order. The Order owned the village since 1401. The arms are a combination of the cross of the Order and the St. Mary, patron saint of the Order. The original document still exists and the arms have not changed since.
