The cross is derived from the arms of the [[Trier (State)|State of Trier]], to which the area historically belonged. The three buckles are derived from the arms of the Boos zu Waldeck family (see also [[Beulich]]), who ruled the village for a long time. The green point symbolises the green character of the municipality, and shows the local church.
