Origin/meaning

In 1197, the church of Übersbach was dedicated to St. John the Baptist and formally elevated to the status of parish church. The landlord, Herrand von Wildon, presented the church to the Order of St. John, now the Order of Malta.

The arms consist of the cross of the Order of Malta, the cross for St. John the Baptist and the Seeblatt arms of the medieval Wildonier family.
