Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 18, 1944.

The bridge refers to the local bridge and the channel (sund) between the Övre Frycken and the Mellanfrycken lakes. The ax refers to the importance of forestry. The boat and boat-hook refer to the fact that boats used to be the main means of transportation in history.
