PAU
Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona
Catalan | Escut caironat: d'argent, un paó d'atzur. Per timbre, una corona de baró. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 28th June 1984.
The local castle was the centre of a barony, that belonged to the Pau family until the 14th century. The arms of the village are the canting arms of the barons: they show a "paó" (Catalan for "peacock"), and they have also a baron crown on the top.
