THE EAST SURREY REGIMENT, BRITISH ARMY
History: Raised in 1702 ad Villier's Regiment of Marines (31st Foot in 1751) and in 1756 as 2nd Battalion, 31st Foot (70th Foot in 1758). These two Battalions become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the East Surrey Regiment in 1881. In 1959 amalgamated with the The Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey) to form The Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment, British Army
