MOLBERGEN

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Cloppenburg

Wappen von Molbergen/Arms (crest) of Molbergen
Official blazon
German

In Silber zwei schwarze Querbalken, aus deren oberem ein roter Löwe hervorwächst, unten über dem Balken ein grüner Dreiberg.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 7, 1969.

The lion and the bars are taken from the arms of the Von Steding family, who played a large role in the development and history of the village. The triple mountain in the base is a canting element (Berg=mountain).

The arms were first used as a seal, designed in 1936. Due to the Second World War arms were not granted at the time. Only in 1954 the municipality applied for arms, but it took until 1969 before the arms were actually granted.
