Italian

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 26, 1952.

The three hills are based on the nickname of the town, the town of the three mountain passes. The letters AI are the town's initials. Ariano also is derived from Ara Iani (altar of the God Ianus), which is also symbolises by the AI.
