BRIAN HEENAN

Born : August 4, 1937
Deceased :

Bishop of Rockhampton, 1991-2003

Arms (crest) of Brian Heenan

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

As common in Australian episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.

The clover, or shamrock, is a symbol of Ireland, the country of his ancestors. The ship is a symbol for the church carrying the the people to salvation. The lower half shows a wattle, symbol for Australia.

The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop.
