History: Formed on March 3, 1915.

Official blazon

A sword argent pommelled Or point upwards the blade surmounted of a wheel azure rimmed and nailed Or.
Motto: Aur portare aut pugnare prompti = Ready to carry of fight.

Origin/meaning

The Sword is indicative of the Wartime association with the Fighter Command, while the Wheel represents the Air Transport Role of the Unit. The badge was granted in April 1962.
