NIMROD MAJOR SERVICING UNIT, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: formed at Kinloss in 1970 but become an indenpendent Unit only on February 1, 1972.
Official blazon
Badge: Rising from a circle of spent arrows sable a phoenix sable rising from flames gules/Or holding in ht ebeak an arrow point upwards Or flighted azure.
Motto: Comhnadh do'n t-sealgair = Succour to the hunter.
Origin/meaning
The Spent Arrows symbolises the rebrith of the nimrod Aircraft after it has undergone Major servicing. The Phoenix further symbolises rebirth and a martial spirit. The BAdge was granted in April 1979.
