The arms were granted on February 20, 1980.
The arms show an owl, taken from the arms of the Herwart von Hohenburg zu Possenhofen und Pöcking family, lords of the area from 1595-1668. The red and silver colours are those of the Rosenbusch family and the Counts of La Rosé, Lords of Pöcking in the 16th and 19th century respectively.
