Origin/meaning
The pine is taken as a symbol of the forests in the municipality. The claw is taken from the bear in the arms of the Schwarzenburg district, to which the village belongs. The arms were devised and adopted in 1941.
Literature: Wappenbuch des Kantons Bern, 1981.
