Origin/meaning
The traditional sign of the arms of the town is the Gothic bridge named Pont de la Vila (or Town Bridge), over the river Llobregat. The castle of Sallent belonged to the bishops of Sant Pere de Vic from 1246 to 1812, this is symbolized by the mitre and keys on the arms. These arms have been officially granted on 15th March 1984.
