Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 4, 1936.
The dragon in the arms is based on a local legend. In the marshlands around the city there used to be a dragon. The dragon frightened the people of the village and finally one man managed to kill the dragon. He was a member of the Cittadini family and ever since the dragon has been the symbol of the town. Later the marshes were drained and the fear for dragons no longer existed in the town.
