State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Goslar (until 1974 Hildesheim)
Incorporated into : 1974 Seesen

Wappen von Mechtshausen/Arms of Mechtshausen
Official blazon

English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the seal of the famous poet Wilhelm Busch, who adopted the symbol around 1858. The meaning, however, is not known. The poet lived with his nephew in Mechtshausen from 1898-1908. The colours are those of the Hildesheim district.
