Blason de Frain / Arms of Frain
Official blazon
French Burelé d'or et de sable, chapé d'argent chargé de deux feuilles de frêne de sinople.
English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The black and golden bars are taken from the arms of the Deuilly family, former lords of the family. The pile represents a cloak cut into two pieces and thus is a symbol for St. Martin of Tours, the local patron saint. The ash (frêne) leaves area a canting element.
