Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 27, 1984.

The bear is the symbol of St. Gallus, patron saint of the village. The bear holds a mill wheel, as a symbol for the former mill in the Schleissbach. The lower part shows part of the arms of the Pirching family, who lived in the castle in Dietach and named themselves Lords of Dietach.

Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
