MUNZINGEN (WALLERSTEIN)
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Donau-Ries (until 1973 Nördlingen)
Incorporated into : 1972 Wallerstein
Official blazon
(de) Gespalten; vorne in Rot ein goldener Schragen, hinten in Schwarz ein von Silber und Rot geschachter Schrägbalken.
Origin/meaning
The saltire is taken form the arms of the Counts of Oettingen, to whom the village historically belonged. The other half shows a Cistercian bend for the former Kirchheim Abbey, which, since 1280, also played a major role in the local history.
