Province : Oost-Vlaanderen
Incorporated into : 1977 Hamme

Wapen van Moerzeke

Official blazon

Van lazuur, het hoofd van zilver beladen met zeven hermynstaarten geplaatst 4 en 3.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 20, 1819.

The arms are derived from the arms of the Lords of Lichtervelde, last Lords of Moerzeke in the late 18th century.

The only known seal of the council of Moerzeke shows a male figure holding a shield with the arms of the Lords van der Meersche, Lords of Moerzeke in the first half of the 18th century.
