HALLSTAHAMMAR
Province (Landskap): Västmanland
County (Län): Västmanlands län
Additions : 1971 Kolbäck (partly, 1952 Rytterne, Säby)
Official blazon
Sköld delad av silver, vari en bjälkvis ställd svart hammare, och av rött, vari tre kugghjul av silver, ställda två och ett.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1948 for the Borough (köping) of Hallstahammar and officially registered in 1986.
The hammer is a symbol for the copper factory Hallsta kopparhammare, which was set up in 1638 and has given the municipality its name. The cogwheels symbolise the modern industry.
