Opheffing : 1855 Heukelum (1986 Giessenlanden, Vuren (Lingewaal), Gorinchem, Leerdam)

De gemeente voerde geen eigen wapen.

De heerlijkheid Spijk bestond oorspronkelijk uit twee onderdelen, Nedereinde van Spijk en Overeinde van Spijk. De beide heerlijkheden waren in handen van twee verschillende families tot 1613, toen beide in bezit kwamen van de familie Van Aessen.

Het wapen van de heerlijkheid was een schild van sabel, beladen met twee dubbelgekanteelde dwarsbalken van zilver. Dit wapen duidt op een historische band met het geslacht Van Arkel.
