ONSENOORD

Het volgende dorpswapen is bekend :

" Gevierendeeld : I en IV in keel een schuinbalk van zilver; II en III in sabel een schildhoofd van goud, beladen met twee zesspakige raderen van keel. "

Oorsprong/verklaring :
Onsenoort was een hoge heerlijkheid in leen van Brabant tot 1370 en van 1370-1795 van Holland. In 1814 kwam het dorp weer bij Noord Brabant.

Onsenoort kende een eigen schepenbank en zegel. Het zegel uit 1643 vertoont een gevierendeeld schild, zolas heirboven beschreven, en achter het schild de H. Johannes de Doper. Het eerste en vierde kwartier is het wapen van het geslacht Van Malsen, het tweede en derde dat van het geslacht Van Wijck (zie ook Wijk en Aalburg). Het wapen is gevormd na het huwelijk van Agnes van Wijck, Vrouwe van Onsenoort en Nieuwkuijk van 1554-1583 en Carel van Malsen.
