"Gedeeld van goud en zwart met 3 springende herten, de bovenste gaande in en komende uit de schildrand, van het ene in het ander; een schildhoofd van keel, getralied met van de kruispunten uitgaande, naar beneden gerichte, uitgebogen punten, alles van zilver. Het schild gedekt met een gouden kroon van 3 bladeren en 2 parels."

Oorsprong/verklaring :
De kleuren goud en zwart duiden op het gele stuifzand en de bouwgrond in de gemeente. De herten duiden op de vele bossen. Het schildhoofd is een eg, die over een groter gebied is geplaatst, zodat alleen de punten te zien zijn en symboliseert de landbouw. Hetzelfde patroon komt ook voor in het tweede wapen van Ermelo, een gemeente waarvan Nunspeet in 1970 werd afgescheiden.
