Oorsprong/verklaring :

Het wapen van Lisse werd al gevoerd door de voormalige heerlijkheid en is bekend als heerlijkheidswapen sinds het midden van de 18e eeuw. Het wapen is waarschijnlijk afgeleid van het wapen van de familie Dever, waarvan het stamhuis in Lisse stond. De kleuren zijn waarschijnlijk de Rijkskleuren en die werden gebruikt bij gemeenten die bij de aanvraag geen kleuren voor het wapen wisten aan te geven.
