KOUDUM

Gemeente : Nijefurd

Het volgende dorpswapen is bekend :
"In goud twee dwarsbalken van keel en een vrijkwartier van azuur, beladen met een ster van goud."

Oorsprong/verklaring :
Het wapen van Koudum was al langer bekend, maar vertoonde geen vrijkwartier. Het vrijkwartier met de ster is toegevoegd om aan te geven dat de plaats een bestuursfunctie heeft gehad. Het was namelijk de hoofdplaats van de voormalige gemeente Hemelumer Oldeferd.
