![]() At the same time and during later centuries the city used as arms again the crosier, now with a broad base and surrounded by a large red bordure. These arms are for example shown in the city hall, dating from 1583.
![]() The arms with the crosier were used until 1921, when the arms from the seal were restored. This was done to avoid confusion with the arms of Basel-Land, which, in 1834 had adopted the arms with the crosier from Liestal. Literature : information and images from Suter, 1984 |
