Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted on January 10, 1957.

The arms show a wooden rudder as a symbol for the local harbour. The rudder is also taken from the arms of Admiral Chapman, who founded the barracks in Skärva. Arms with the rudder can be seen on sloops and cannons from the barracks dating from the 1780s and 1790s.
